Dear Parents / Guardians:
It is with great pleasure that I am able to serve you and your children as the educational leader of Alfred S. Faust Intermediate School. On behalf of the administration, faculty, and professional support staff, I want to take this opportunity to welcome you to our web page.
At Faust School, our primary focus is to provide our students with a high quality education in a positive learning environment. We encourage our students to always try their best in order to succeed in our world today and in their future endeavors.
Besides teaching essential instructional skills that align with the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), we are also building their confidence by having them practice technology skills to help them do well in the State of New Jersey’s new mandated standardized test called NJSLA (New Jersey Student Learning Assessments).
Our dedicated and experienced teaching staff uses an educational approach that is data-driven and tailored to the needs of every student. Our teachers use a variety of assessments to regularly monitor their students’ progress in order to differentiate instruction for every child. Listed below are some of our main goals that our teachers and professional support staff members strive for at Alfred S. Faust School:
1. Provide a curriculum that is conducive to learning, relevant, challenging, integrative, and exploratory for middle school students.
2. Instill school spirit and pride that involves all of the stakeholders in our community.
3. Develop positive relationships with parents in order to support their child’s education.
4. Continue to take professional development courses that use instructional methods to prepare our teachers and support staff members in meeting the challenges that our students encounter.
Parent involvement is also extremely important to us and we encourage you to play a major role in being proactive in your child’s education. As the principal of the school, I want parents to feel comfortable in expressing their ideas and concerns that help make a positive contribution towards student achievement.Always feel free to explore our website and spend some time looking over our student handbook, curriculum, program of study and teacher’s web pages. You may also monitor your child’s progress by accessing the Genesis Parent Portal, which gives you up to date information on homework and a view into the teacher’s grade book. The Genesis Parent Access Link and Parent Portal User Manual are now easily accessible at the bottom of our homepage.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me at any time. I frequently check my e-mails and voice mail messages and am always visible throughout the school. My door is always open and I look forward to working with you in your child's education.
Warmest regards,
Mrs. Regina Barrale
